The Old Masters

Lighting has always fascinated me, especially lighting in the works of dutch old master painters such as Rembrandt and Vermeer. I have recently bought a set of flash heads so I can expand my own knowledge of how to light a scene. The image above is a photograph I took trying to get the style of Rembrandt. The image had some re-touching in post-production to make it look as authentic as possible. I feel the image is successful and the portrait works well.
The reason for these tests is a project that I'm going to  be undertaking in the new year. Watch this space for more details and tests on the upcoming project.

Enjoy.
